A cleaning plan helps to keep your household clean quickly and effectively
For many people, a clean and tidy home is a key aspect of feeling good. However, you have probably already reached the point where you have outgrown your household. A cleaning plan will help you to keep on top of things.
A cleaning schedule can also be a good motivational aid for so-called "cleaning grouches", as it can effectively help to bring order to the chaos. Especially if you and your partner travel a lot, a cleaning schedule is a great way to manage daily household tasks together. This simple arrangement can quickly avoid conflicts over the fair distribution of cleaning tasks. But a cleaning schedule can also help families to involve all family members and take the pressure off the housewife or househusband. Many people are quick to think that a cleaning schedule is superfluous, as they already have the daily tasks in their heads. However, if the tasks are visualized and you have the option of ticking them off, motivation is significantly boosted. It also helps you to pick up your cleaning utensils more regularly and prevent clutter from creeping in. Many tasks, such as wiping out the fridge or dusting the skirting boards, don't need to be done so often and are therefore quickly forgotten. A reminder of these infrequent tasks can therefore never hurt.
Always in view
For the cleaning schedule to work, it is important that you and everyone involved always have the cleaning schedule in view. It should therefore be displayed in a place where you walk past frequently or at least take a look at it every day. Places such as the fridge door, the pinboard in the kitchen or the wall in the hallway that you pass every day are therefore popular places for the cleaning schedule. The more prominently it is displayed, the more likely it is to stick in your mind or at least ensure that your guilty conscience spurs you on to clean and tidy up. Family members or roommates can also take a quick look at the plan and know exactly what tasks they have.
A cleaning plan on your cell phone can also be a useful solution to keep an eye on it at all times. Nowadays, various apps allow you to give other people access to the schedule and set reminders. You are guaranteed not to forget anything.
How do you create a suitable cleaning schedule?
First of all, it is important to find out what type of cleaning schedule works for you. Not everyone finds the same type of cleaning schedule easier to keep the house clean. However, it is always a good idea to divide up your tasks. Some tasks, such as washing up or making the beds, need to be done every day. Tasks such as cleaning windows or wiping out cupboards, on the other hand, should be done monthly or every two months. Dividing up the tasks helps you to plan your time better, as you can see in advance which tasks are due soon.
It is particularly clear if the cleaning schedule is structured like a timetable at school. You can always see exactly which tasks are due for the whole week. Names in brackets or colorful markings can also be used to include other people in the cleaning schedule. You should list the everyday tasks separately, as these apply to every day of the week and can therefore quickly lead to a confusing cleaning schedule. It is also very convenient if you do not schedule any tasks on one or two days a week, for example on Sunday, and mark these days on the schedule. Looking at these days off can also have a motivating effect.
It's all a question of routine
Once you and any helpers have stuck to your cleaning schedule for a while, you will quickly notice that a routine gradually sets in. It is then often no longer necessary to look at the plan, as you will soon have internalized the tasks and their distribution to the other cleaning helpers. However, it is important that you or your family do not feel stressed by the cleaning schedule. Try out how the plan works best for everyone. Once you've found the right rhythm, you may even be surprised to receive visitors who are amazed at how clean your home is.
