Admittedly: We can no longer keep up. When we recently mixed up Instagram and Pinterest, our pretended coolness was completely over. What we should know to understand the Internet: the Internet ABC.
How to spell the Internet ABC
Bashtag
We could just about remember the hashtag (#): This is used to label and summarize terms on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter (see further down). And "bashtag"? It's a harmless hashtag that suddenly turns negative and only attracts nasty comments.
Buzzfeed
The website www.buzzfeed.com is full of everything funny and bizarre. The biggest hits are lists of useless or weird topics. For example: "27 terrible things that happen to you every time you go to Ikea" or "What it feels like when you touch up your eyeliner for the 52nd time".
Ello
A social network that really wants to be social. That means: no data protection leaks. However, the network only has one million users.
Face Swap
The ABSOLUTE craze on the app market: the free video app "MSQRD". And there is now a fun update for this application called Face Swap. This allows you to swap faces with a friend or a photo. And we can reveal one thing: We look really funny with a cookie face.
FollowerPower
This is how you use the power of the group on Twitter. There, requests or calls are marked with #followerpower. A signal to the Twitter community to help with the requested cause.
Images are uploaded to this platform and shared with friends or the entire Instagram community. However, Instagram only works on smartphones, not on computers.
Rant
This is the name given to an accusatory monologue on the internet.
Snapchat
The latest craze - especially among young users. Here you upload photos or videos that can only be viewed for a few seconds and are deleted after 24 minutes. So: everything even faster, faster, faster.
ThrowbackThursday
Every Thursday, relatively old photos are posted on Instagram with #TBT. This is how you share memories online.
Short messages limited to 140 characters are shared here.
