Trick 17: What coffee can do in the household
Repair scratches
Apply some damp coffee grounds to grooves in dark wooden furniture. It fills the scratches and the oil it contains seals them.
Neutralize odours
If the fridge smells bad, put a small bowl of coffee grounds in it overnight.
Clean pans
Stubborn dirt and burnt-on food can be removed with coffee grounds - it works like scouring milk, but without the chemicals.
Fertilize plants
Coffee grounds contain many nutrients such as potassium and phosphorus. Our plants are happy about this.
