Fastening clothes: Elastic bands prevent clothes from slipping off the hanger. To do this, simply attach an elastic band tightly to each end of the hanger.
Opening jars: Do your hands always slip when opening the jam jar? Wrap two thicker rubber bands around the jar, one further down and one on the lid. Now your hands have more grip and the jar is much easier to open.
Avoid stains: If you wipe paintbrushes with paint or varnish directly on the edge of the jar, something often goes wrong. It's better to stretch a thick rubber band over the middle of the jar opening and use it to clean the brush.
