Seasoning dishes
If you add bay leaves or cloves loosely to hearty dishes, it is difficult to fish them out again afterwards. It is easier if you put the spices in a filter bag in advance and fold the edge over several times.
Saving wine
It's annoying when a few small pieces of cork float in the glass. Simply pass the wine through a coffee filter - and enjoy afterwards.
