The titles of new films used to be emblazoned in large black letters on movie theater lightboxes. Today, the miniature version of the so-called "lightbox" adorns our windowsills or shelves.
Small lightbox - big effect
A few small letters can have such a big effect. Sweet messages to your loved one or short sayings to cheer you up can be put together on the light box every day.
We'll show you how to easily build your own light box. With this individual form of light box, you can even make pictures, longer quotes or poems an absolute eye-catcher in your home. Here are the DIY instructions including a video with step-by-step instructions.
Build your own lightbox: This is how it works
Slightly deeper picture frames are suitable for making a light box (e.g. "Ribba" from IKEA). First, remove the back panel and place it on sandwich paper. Use a pencil to draw markings along the back wall like a template and cut them out. Stick the desired lettering or picture (it looks best on black cardboard) onto the tracing paper with a little glue.
Now attach the paper with the motif to the very edge with liquid glue. Cut a piece of aluminum foil the same size as the back wall and stick it to it. Attach a string of lights with small LED bulbs to the aluminum foil using Sellotape.
Put everything together, plug into the socket and your very own light box with a personal message is ready - whether as a gift or as a light object in your own four walls.
