Do it yourself: Easter on the windowsill

Winter has really been long enough, now it's time to bring some color into the house! Easter daffodils and brightly painted eggs bring spring and nature into your own four walls as Easter decorations. You can make a special eye-catcher yourself with just a few simple steps: A small fence for your decorative bed.

A wide windowsill can be wonderfully decorated according to the season. Where a few months ago a draped string of lights and fir branches created a Christmas atmosphere, Easter is now the theme. Daffodils in beautiful planters and the indispensable Easter eggs in spring colors are framed with a colorful fence made of wood scraps. This will extend your front garden into the living room.

What you need for the Easter fence:

Rough sawn lath 24 x 48 x 2000 mm (available from DIY stores)
Wood scraps of different types 10-20 mm thick
Wood screws (4 x 30 mm and 4 x 35 mm)
Wood sandpaper (e.g. 180 grit)
Protractor
pencil
Folding rule or laser range finder
Hammer drill
Saw

And this is how it works:

Step 1: First measure the length of the windowsill for the size of the Easter decoration. With a laser range finder, you can get very precise measurements at the touch of a button. This is how you determine the length of the wooden slat running lengthways. The individual fence slats will later be attached vertically to it.

Step 2: The individual small fence slats are now sawn from the wood scraps. Different types and colors of wood in 10 to 20 millimeter thickness provide variety. To do this, mark out the desired shape on the boards beforehand using a pencil and protractor.

Step 3: Use the saw to cut the shape of the individual fence sections. Then carefully sand the cut edges.

Step4: Now drill the individual slats of the fence to the long wooden slat using a hammer drill. It is best to use wood screws with a length of 30 millimeters.

Step5: Finally, place the finished Easter decoration fence on the windowsill and give free rein to your creativity when designing the mini garden on your own windowsill!
