Hand lettering: We decorate a wooden coaster

Letters define the world of hand lettering artist Hannah Rabenstein. In the "Little Handlettering School" by edding and DaWanda, the Nuremberg native has already taken us into her creative world, shown us the basics of handlettering, created a creative Christmas card with us and written on glass, porcelain and fabric. Today Hannah is decorating a wooden coaster with her initials.

Don't write on blackboards with chalk

When you think of chalk, the old-school slate probably comes to mind just as quickly. But hand lettering artist Hannah Rabenstein shows us in today's tutorial, the sixth part of the "Little Hand Lettering School" from edding and DaWanda, that you can use edding chalk pens in a completely different way. Hannah is decorating a wooden coaster with her white chalk pens.

First the base coat

Hannah uses wooden discs as the basis for her new work of art, which she first paints black with blackboard paint. Once the paint has dried, she can start hand lettering.

Make your own thing with hand lettering

Hannah decorates her personal work of art with the first letter of her name, H. The beautifully curved cursive H not only looks elegant, but also particularly artistic. With the tips and tricks Hannah Rabenstein gives in the video, you can create your own individual wooden coasters - your friends will be amazed the next time you share a beer or a glass of wine!
