Wrap money gifts in an original way: Make your own globe

"We just want money for our trip" is the dreaded phrase in a wedding or birthday invitation. Simply putting a few bills in an envelope is perhaps a little too impersonal. But how do you wrap gifts of money beautifully and give them a personal touch? We'll show you how.

Gift wrapping with a difference: why not give money as a gift in a globe you've made yourself?

Give the world as a gift

Well, crafting may not be everyone's cup of tea. But this DIY gift wrap is guaranteed to work for everyone. All you need are the following ingredients:

  • 1 polystyrene ball
  • Decoupage glue
  • Decoupage paper
  • paintbrush
  • Sponge
  • Small flags
  • Umbrella

And you're ready to start crafting

This is how it works:

  1. Coat both halves of the polystyrene sphere with the glue and moisten the decoupage paper with the globe print with a sponge.
  2. Place the paper over the hemispheres and press down carefully. Cut off the excess paper and place the edge with glue around the edge.
  3. Stick small flags and cocktail umbrellas into the polystyrene to decorate.
