Care support centers: Free advice on care matters

Your mother becomes increasingly forgetful and becomes a care case in the family, your neighbor has fallen and is now bedridden - or it all becomes too much for you in old age. And now - what happens next? Who can help? A good idea is to start by contacting a care support center. The advisors take away your initial worries, help with all applications and are usually very close to you.

Care support center: What is it anyway?

The care support points are run jointly by the local authorities and the statutory health insurance funds. There are now around 470 and the number is growing. You can find the nearest one by calling your health insurance company or via the Internet, for example on the website www.pflegestuetzpunkte-deutschlandweit.de.

Who can get advice?

Those affected and their relatives can find answers to their questions there. But anyone who is worried about their elderly neighbor can also find help. It doesn't have to be an acute case. Or do you need support for a family member because you are going on vacation? Or are you wondering how to find the right care home? Then you've come to the right place.

How can you get help?

The advice is comprehensive. The staff will listen to your concerns and needs and can tell you what statutory benefits or care rates you are entitled to, for example if your home needs to be adapted for the elderly or disabled. They also help with filling out applications. Advice is not only provided in the care centers. On request, the staff will also come to the homes of those affected and their relatives or talk to them on the phone.
