What dogs say about our character

One look into the faithful brown eyes, a stroke through the thick fur - and we feel understood and cared for. Dogs have truly earned the title of "our best friend". They are companions and comforters. They are happy with us and always have an open ear for us. But is there really a connection between the choice of dog and the character of the owner?

We are drawn to the breed that suits our personality

The bond between dog and owner is undoubtedly something very special. It is often even said that the two are quite similar. Well, there is actually a lot to this cliché.

Once you think about it, it makes sense. A person's personality also determines their preferences. And this applies not only to the search for a partner, but also to the choice of four-legged friend. Every person unconsciously chooses a dog that best matches their own personality. True to the motto: Birds of a feather flock together.

That's right, after all, he accompanies us through quite a few phases of our lives, so a common wavelength is the be-all and end-all. There are, of course, numerous studies on the relationship between humans and dogs. Researchers at the University of Bonn took a closer look at this mutual relationship. They asked 2,789 owners about their relationship with their four-legged friend. In the end, they identified three main types of dog owners who differ significantly in their attitudes and behavioral patterns. According to the study, 43 percent are nature-loving and social dog owners. This type spends a lot of time with their pet and is very sociable. The prestige-oriented dog owner, who likes to humanize their pet, accounts for 22 percent. They want to use their four-legged friend to boost their self-confidence and improve their standing with other people.

There are three different types of owner

35 percent belong to the type of owner who has a strong emotional attachment to their four-legged friend. Their dog means the world to them and is even more important to them than social relationships. But regardless of which type you belong to, the love between humans and dogs is always something unique.
