4 household tricks with empty toilet rolls
1. use as a chimney starter: The fireplace or barbecue just won't light? No problem, just grab an empty roll of toilet paper, it's a great substitute for conventional firelighters.
2. use as storage for pens
This trick creates more order in every pen drawer! Pens often just lie around loose in the drawer. Pack several rolls of empty toilet paper upright in a box or carton so that they are close together. These now act as holders for the pens.

3. as a hair tie or barrette holder
This is how we keep an overview: Simply thread hair ties and scrunchies onto empty loo paper rolls! We can also attach hair clips to them so that they don't fly around in the drawer.
Tip: For a nicer look, you can stick colorful wrapping paper or craft paper on the cardboard rolls!
4. as a toy for rodents
Rodents love to move through tunnel systems - you can distribute individual rolls in a large cage or connect several rolls to form a large tube. When the toilet paper rolls have done their job, you can simply dispose of them without having to clean them. They are also more hygienic than plastic products.
