Ivy prefers semi-shady to shady locations. The more it is exposed to light, the more it needs to be watered. So it does less work in the shade!

Whether sunny or shady, the sword fern always adapts to the respective conditions. It can therefore be placed in a darker room, but please don't forget to water it regularly as the fern needs plenty of water.
