Be careful, these 3 things are often done wrong when washing laundry.

Just quickly put the laundry in the machine and off you go? Not at all, there's a lot you can do wrong when doing the laundry. These are the most common mistakes!

4 mistakes that everyone makes when doing laundry

1. using too much detergent

If you use too much detergent, you harm the environment and also have to buy new detergent more often. Too much detergent also settles on your clothes, which is why you should always check the dosage on the detergent packaging.

2. you are not preparing the clothes properly

Before putting clothes in the machine, they should be turned inside out to protect the fabric. Always close zippers and buttons. The fasteners could damage other items of clothing during washing. Closed buttons on blouses and shirts are the be-all and end-all when washing. This prevents them from falling off during washing and, in the worst case, even causing machine damage.

3. loading the machine incorrectly

If the drum is too full, the laundry may not get properly clean. You should also always keep an eye on the capacity of your machine, otherwise the drum or the machine may be damaged. When filling the machine, always make sure that there is still a hand's width of space between the drum and the laundry. This ensures that the laundry is nice and clean.

4. use fabric softener for towels

Many people add fabric softener to their towels so that they are nice and soft and cuddly afterwards. However, this makes the towels much less absorbent when they dry, which is why you should avoid using it.
