Safely home

Even if its name suggests otherwise, the poinsettia doesn't like the cold. After all, its home is in Mexico. It should be well wrapped to protect it from the wind and cold during transportation.

No sun

The poinsettia prefers a bright and warm location. However, it should be protected from direct sunlight and draughts . It feels completely at home at temperatures of 15 to 22 degrees Celsius. Tip: Avoid direct proximity to fruit and vegetables, otherwise the beautiful bracts will wilt quickly!

Water sparingly

It is better to water too little than too much: Poinsettias do not tolerate waterlogging. Excess water in the planter should always be poured off immediately, otherwise discolored leaves and leaf loss may result. A small amount of lukewarm water every two days is sufficient. To support the splendour of the bracts, the watering water can be enriched with a liquid fertilizer every month.
