There are no fewer than 800 different varieties: yellow, orange, white and green. From round to oval to the craziest shapes and colors, everything is included. Unlike the aromatic Hokkaido, musk and garden pumpkins, miniature ornamental pumpkins are not suitable for eating - but they are a varied ingredient for table decorations. In addition to flower vases and fruit arrangements, larger specimens can also be used to create delightful flower pools. It is particularly fun to decorate the bowl with artistic pictures, inscriptions and carved patterns. Here are a few ways to turn the pumpkin into an autumn decoration. And you can see a few examples of decorations in the picture gallery.
The napkin technique comes into play
Cut out flower motifs from a napkin and attach the motifs to the fruity giant or a smaller butternut using special glue. You can loosely decorate them with sprigs of holly.

A great fall decoration: head a pumpkin and hollow it out. Spray the outside with spray paint and leave to dry. Draw diamonds all around. Carefully carve out the shapes with a cutter without piercing the pumpkin. Wrap with sisal cord. Finally, fill with water and place two floating candles and a rose inside
Quick and easy table decoration
Quick as a flash and really makes a statement. Simply fill a mix of decorative pumpkins, chestnuts, apples, rose hips and physalis into a large decorative jar - and your table decoration is ready.
Another autumn decoration option: simply buy a colorful mix of small ornamental pumpkins from the greengrocer. Fill them into a glass bell jar and place them upside down on a pretty plate or etagere.
Tip: it's best to place several of these pumpkin arrangements on the table.
Fruity soup terrine
A fall decoration to snack on: Cut off the pumpkin lid and outline the edge with a gold paint pen. Hollow out the fruit, use the flesh to make soup and fill the hollowed-out pumpkin. If you are unsure whether the skin can withstand the soup, you can also place a suitable bowl in the pumpkin. You can cut small bats out of slices of brown or wholemeal bread and stick them around the edge.
A second option: label the pumpkin with "Bon Appetit". A homemade name tag on the lid serves as a place card.
