Make your own cleaning products: How to save money!

Household cleaners are not only expensive, the chemical maces are also not good for people or the environment. So why not make your own cleaning products? They are effective and you save money too. It's that easy!

Make your own dishwasher Ingredients: 200 ml lemon bleach, 400 ml washing soda, 400 ml oxygen bleach, large food storage container (seal tightly) Preparation: Pour the washing soda, lemon bleach and oxygen bleach into the food storage container, close tightly and shake to mix the ingredients. You can of course also mix the ingredients. Add approx. 2 heaped teaspoons to the tab chamber per wash cycle.

All-purpose cleaner with lavender Ingredients: 300 ml water, 300 ml high-proof alcohol such as vodka, 20 g dried lavender flowers, empty spray bottle Preparation: Bring the water to the boil in a pan, place the dried lavender flowers in a bowl and pour the boiling water over them. The flowers should be completely covered by the water. Leave to infuse for around 40 minutes, then strain the flowers. Finally, add the alcohol to the cooled lavender water, stir and pour into the spray bottle.

Make your own glass cleaner Ingredients: 300 ml spirit, 300 ml water, 6 tsp vinegar (vinegar essence or apple cider vinegar), empty spray bottle Preparation: Fill the spray bottle with water, spirit and vinegar using a funnel and close tightly. Shake the spray bottle to mix the ingredients. Please repeat this before each use.

Make your own washing powder Ingredients: 400 g baking soda, 400 g soda, 300 g curd soap, 300 g dishwasher salt, large preserving jar or sealed food storage container Preparation: Pour the baking soda, dishwasher salt and soda into the container, finely grate the curd soap and add. Close tightly and shake vigorously. You will need about 1 heaped tablespoon for each wash cycle. Use a little more for heavy soiling.

Make your own drain cleaner Ingredients: 1 packet of baking soda, 1/2 cup of vinegar Preparation : First pour the baking soda into the drain, then the vinegar. Leave to work for around 30 minutes, then rinse with hot water. Tip: Clean the drain regularly to prevent stubborn blockages from forming in the first place!
