Ventilate properly and well
Regular ventilation is important to get the moisture out of your home. You should air your home at least three times a day for about five minutes. Always ventilate well after showering or cooking, as this is where a lot of moisture is created. You should also cross-ventilate by opening windows in opposite rooms at the same time. This ensures that the moisture is transported outside more quickly. Turn down the heating during ventilation so that no energy is wasted.
Do not place furniture too close to the wall
Always make sure that furniture is not placed too close to the wall, especially outside walls. Furniture should be at least 5 centimetres away from the wall to prevent mold from forming in between.
In the bathroom: always dry wet areas immediately
Mold can form quickly in the bathroom in particular due to the high humidity. You should therefore always dry the tiles with a towel immediately after showering. The same applies to the kitchen. Moisture can also collect on the tiles when cooking.
Dry laundry properly
If you don't have a drying floor, boiler room or balcony, it's best to dry your laundry in a room with a window. This will allow you to air the room regularly so that the moisture can evaporate. Also important: the room should not be unheated; a temperature of 20 °C is ideal.
