Removing urine scale: We have the best tips for you!

With urine scale, the name says it all. The unsightly deposit in the toilet bowl is stubbornly persistent if we don't take action and counteract it in time. Urine scale forms when calcareous water combines with urine. It is particularly noticeable on the rim of the flush and in the creases of the toilet.

There are numerous industrial cleaners available in drugstores that can help to remove urine scale. However, we would like to give you some home remedies that are at least as effective. And they are also much more environmentally friendly.

Vinegar and baking soda against urine scale

A mixture of baking soda and vinegar is extremely effective against urine scale. Simply pour around 200 milliliters of vinegar essence into the toilet and then sprinkle three to four tablespoons of baking soda on top. Leave the mixture to work overnight and the next morning, use a toilet brush to remove the dissolved dirt from the toilet bowl.

Cola and baking soda as home remedies

Another way to remove urine scale is with cola and baking soda. What many people tend to associate with the kitchen is also a wonderful cleaning aid in the bathroom. This is how the household remedy works: First, pour two to three packets of baking soda over the stains in the toilet bowl. Now add around 250 milliliters of cola. Don't be surprised - now the combination starts to fizz! After a few hours of soaking, completely remove the deposits from the toilet.

Further tips: Denture cleaner or dishwasher tabs can also remove urine scale wonderfully. Simply put two tabs in the toilet - ideally overnight - and you should be rid of the deposits.
