Trick 17: What orange peel can do

Mmmh, we love oranges as a juicy fruit with lots of vitamin C. But the peel also has a lot to offer: it contains essential oils that can be cleverly used in the home.

You should never simply dispose of orange peel

Room fragrance: Poke holes in the bowl with a toothpick or shashlik skewer and then insert whole cloves. In combination, they make for a lovely Advent room fragrance. Orange peel in a fleece bag is also a great scent dispenser in the car.

Dishwasher deodorizer: No more musty smells! Simply place the peel of citrus fruit in the cutlery basket of the dishwasher. Make sure that the peel is free of pulp so that it doesn't get stuck in the machine's sieve.

Tea: Wash the peel from organic oranges and cut into approx. 5 x 5 mm cubes. Leave to dry (e.g. on the heater) and add to fruit, black or green tea for a refreshing addition. Simple and delicious!
