Sponge for pot cleaning
To remove burnt-on food, there are so-called steel sponges for pots, which are made of fine steel wool. However, these are not suitable for all materials: For coated pans, you should only use pot sponges made of plastic fibers. They have two sides, one for stubborn stains and one soft side. For very delicate coatings such as cast iron grill grates, you should only ever use the soft side.
Cleaning surfaces: How to get it really clean
All-purpose sponge for kitchen and bathroom
Universal sponges usually have a soft side and a hard side with a fleece coating that contains abrasive particles and is usually dark green in color. This all-purpose sponge is then also suitable for cleaning pots and pans. When cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, you need a hard and a soft side to loosen stubborn dirt on floor tiles, for example, or to get cooking surfaces perfectly clean. Here, too, you need to pay attention to which surfaces are sensitive. You should always clean a bathroom mirror with the soft side. It is advisable to soak stubborn stains beforehand. In contrast to pot scourers, however, large-format products tend to be used for bathrooms and kitchens because you have more surface area to clean.

Sponge for cleaning: Dirt eraser
The so-called dirt eraser is also a cleaning sponge. Eraser sponges do not need any cleaning agents - but they do need to be moistened to release the melamine resin they contain. The sponge has an abrasive effect, which is why you should be careful with painted surfaces such as kitchen cabinets. Otherwise, the sponge is a universally applicable product for stubborn surface stains of all kinds (even on leather and textiles), which achieves a good effect.
