What would you do if you were suddenly a millionaire? "Travel," was the answer of these five lucky winners of the SKL Millions show. While one seeks his fortune far away, for the other it is very close by.

Metropolis on the Seine: Paris

In the city of love, magnificent buildings, French flair and the finest delicacies beckon. Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the Seine - you have a dream view over Paris from the roof terrace of the Galeries Lafayette department store - and it's free! Instead of visiting a high-end restaurant, you can enjoy a picnic in the garden of the Louvre, for example. You can find cheese specialties, baguettes and wine in the small food stores in the artists' quarter of Montmartre, for example. Here, portrait painters (approx. 20 euros) offer their services around the Sacré-Coeur basilica. SKL winner Vesna Vekic also had her portrait painted. The millionaire also likes to go shopping: "But not in the really expensive stores," she emphasizes. If you like rummaging, you can find bargains at the famous Saint-Ouen flea market.

Sunny Miami

Florida's cult city scores with beaches, amusement miles and shopping malls. SKL millionaire Petra Hunger has just been to Miami Beach and explored the whole area in a hire car (book from Germany, it's always cheaper!). She liked the route to Key West because you have the feeling of driving through the sea on this route.

Lifestyle in Munich

When the sun is shining, people meet in street cafés, beer gardens and by the Isar. "You don't always have to travel to another country to experience something extraordinary," says Angelika Justl. If she wants to experience Far Eastern flair, she visits the Japanese tea house in the English Garden (8 euros). City tours by rickshaw are also great fun (from 25 euros per person).

Royal Stockholm

A true beauty, surrounded by the Baltic Sea and green nature. Stockholm is considered an expensive place, but it can also be inexpensive. Many restaurants serve lunch for as little as ten euros, and free city tours are offered at freetourstockholm.com. Bernd Maassen, winner of the SKL Millions show in October 2014, likes to hop on a boat right by the castle (from around 20 euros, www.stromma.se) and take a look at the city from the water.

Cult city Barcelona

Spain's second largest city offers beaches and culture. Fancy a short trip? Eurowings flies you to Barcelona for just 33 euros. Once there, Franz-Philipp Kersting recommends a city tour on a double-decker bus (approx. 26 euros): "On a hop-on hop-off tour, you can explore the sights at your leisure."
