Dream beaches: these are the eight most beautiful in the world

For 63% of 40-49-year-olds, a beautiful vacation means pure happiness. This was the result of a representative survey conducted by "Idee für mich" in collaboration with Emnid. Powdered sugar sand, turquoise sea, palm trees or mountain scenery: A beach has to fulfill a few criteria before it can be called a dream beach. We present the most beautiful dream beaches around the world.

White sand and turquoise blue water magically attract bathers and divers

A dream beach as it is written in the book: white, wide, long, gently merging into crystal-clear water. And there are palm trees here too: Boracay is a paradise in the Philippines. The almost 10 square kilometer island is a tourist attraction with its 3.5 kilometer long White Beach and Diniwid Beach on the west side. The island is also a paradise for divers, with lush coral reefs waiting to be explored.

Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island in Australia is a particularly remarkable dream beach: it is said to be the whitest beach in the world and, in contrast to the bright green water, is almost too beautiful to be real! The secret of its whiteness lies in its 99 percent quartz content. Particularly special: the whole island is a national park, there are no hotels or other buildings, just a camping zone. Daily ferry connections from Hamilton Island or Airlie Beach.

Users of the travel portal Tripadvisor voted the Spiaggia dei Conigli beach on Lampedusa as the fourth most beautiful on the planet. Although visitors first have to walk a long way before they get to see the turquoise water and the dream beach.

The Golden Horn (Zlatni rat) on the Croatian island of Brač is one of the most beautiful and most visited beaches in the country. The beach is shaped like a horn, with the tip of the horn always pointing in different directions due to the currents.

Let's move on to Germany: the western beach in the Baltic resort of Darß is wild and romantic at the same time. The TV channel arte even named the beach one of the 20 most beautiful in the world. The western beach is 13 km long, untouched nature awaits visitors and you will look in vain for a beach chair.

From Makena to Brigitte Bardot

Makena Beach, also known as "Big Beach", is located on the southwest coast of Maui and is one of the best beaches on the island. The golden sandy beach is over 90 meters wide, rarely crowded and a paradise for snorkelers, surfers and swimmers.

In the seventies, dropouts discovered Trancoso, a district of Porto Seguro in Brazil. Its beautiful beaches attracted more and more visitors and Trancoso has since become a popular destination for high society.

None other than Brigitte Bardot made Pampelonne, southeast of Saint-Tropez, famous. The actress basked in the southern French sun there in the film "And Eternal Woman Lures". The 4.5-kilometre-long sandy beach is subject to an environmental protection law as a "remarkable natural landscape".
