Frau tröstet ihre betrogene Freundin
Marriage fraudsters deprive many women of their dreams and their money - the pain then runs very deep.

When a dear friend falls in love with someone new, we are happy and excited. But what if the new dream man suddenly turns into a nightmare? Read on to find out how Christine and her friend fared with the man of their dreams:

"Doro was beaming all over her face and seems happier than ever. And she was already gushing about what made her so beautiful:

"I'm totally in love, Christine."

I was so happy for her. Dorothee is not only my best friend, but also an unusually lovely woman, smart, gentle and warm-hearted. I hope her new friend appreciated his happiness. It seemed that way for a few weeks. Then my friend invited me to a dinner for three. "Oh, Tine," she exclaimed excitedly on the phone, "I'm so excited to hear what you think of Ulli." I was too.

The joy doesn't last long

But the day before the planned meal, I happened to see Doro and Ulli outside the supermarket. My heart almost stopped. I knew this man well, but as Carsten! We met a few years ago after my divorce. I was also very much in love with him at the time. But after a few weeks, I caught him taking my debit card out of my handbag. He didn't even deny that he was stealing from me. I threw him out immediately, but didn't do anything else. I was ashamed that I had been taken in by a conman. Now my mind was racing. What should I do? Tell Doro the truth? Actually, yes, absolutely. But would she believe me, in love as she was? In any case, I canceled dinner in the evening. "I've caught a virus, unfortunately I can't come," I fibbed on the phone. 'Poor you,' she called sympathetically. "Get a good cure. We'll make up for the meeting soon!" I spent a restless evening. What was going to happen now? Should I get involved? Did I have to stay out of it? No, I couldn't let Doro run into disaster. But what was the best way to protect her?

Expose the bastard

Because I couldn't think of anything, I called a motherly friend. "You have to tell Dorothee," she said, "and you'd better go to the police too. Who knows who else that bastard might make unhappy." That's how I saw it too. But Ulli-Carsten would definitely deny that he wanted to steal from me back then. And unfortunately I couldn't prove anything. The only thing I could do was to make Doro prick up her ears with innuendo. Unfortunately, she didn't react to anything that could have even remotely cast a negative light on her boyfriend. For example, when I asked if she had been to his house yet, she replied faithfully: "Not yet. He has his sick mother with him at the moment. But as soon as she's better, I'll visit him." When I wanted to know where Mr. Perfect worked, my friend explained: "He's a self-employed investment consultant and travels a lot. Of course I can never reach him there." I groaned inwardly at so much guilelessness. Apparently love really is blind. About four weeks went by without Doro having any doubts about her boyfriend's sincerity - no matter what I tried. I was gradually almost dying of worry.

Only the bitter truth could help

So one day I went to the police after all. I told a female officer what I had experienced with Ulli-Carsten and what was bothering me about Doro. She was kind enough to show me the computer file of marriage fraudsters and con artists known to the police. I actually discovered the guy in it. There were three reports of cheated women against him. Now there was no turning back. Doro had to find out the bitter truth as quickly as possible. At first she didn't believe a word I said. But when she looked through her bank records at my insistence, she realized that her savings book was missing. At first, she was horrified. Then she screamed at me as if I was to blame for this development. Then she cried heartbreakingly. And in the end, to my immense relief, she also pressed charges against Ulli-Carsten. Hopefully he'll be behind bars soon. Today, over a year later, Doro has come to terms with the disappointment and realized that there has to be some healthy mistrust when it comes to love. She behaves accordingly wisely with Norman, her new suitor. This time I am convinced that he is the right man for her. I'm sure she'll soon realize it."
