Study shatters everyday beliefs
However, if you believe a survey conducted by Lovepoint last year in which 2889 people were questioned, these ideas are a misconception. The over-40 study participants were asked about their sexual desire, ability to orgasm and openness to new experiences and affairs. The results were extremely interesting and were certainly not to be expected. For example, more than three out of four women stated that they felt more sexual desire as they got older than they did when they were younger. Slightly less than half of the men surveyed shared this view. The reason given by the respondents was that they felt more comfortable in their bodies and had more life experience. They thought less about the impression they wanted to make during sex and focused more on the lovemaking itself. Personal maturity therefore harbors a potential for the sexual second spring that should not be underestimated. This is also reflected in the ability to orgasm, especially among women. 46 percent of the women surveyed stated that they had orgasmed more often since turning forty than when they were younger. In contrast, only ten percent of men did so. The result is easy to understand. Due to the increasing number of sexual experiences, women are naturally more likely to know what they like and where they really get their money's worth. The logical result is therefore more orgasms.
Open to new things - in every relationship
However, the participants in the study did not just follow the usual successful practices that are pretty sure to lead to arousal. They were also more open to sexual experiences. Over half of the women and around 40 percent of the men became more sexually experimental as they got older. This applies in particular to trying out different positions. And it's not just positions that are changed more frequently over the age of 40. According to the survey, more women try out other sexual partners even though they are in a committed relationship. 35% of the women surveyed decide to have an affair for the first time in their lives between the ages of 40 and 49. The same applies to only 20 percent of men. At a younger age, the ratio is the other way around. Between the ages of 20 and 29, 32% of men and 20% of women cheat for the first time. But why do more women decide to have an affair as they get older? Many of them want to experience being sexually desired again. If you are in a long-term relationship, sexual desire for your partner often decreases.
Awaken sexual desire (again)
As the survey shows that sexual variety is still interesting even over 40, here are a few tips to give you a new lease of life in bed. You should follow these especially if you are not interested in having an affair and would rather be sexually desired by your partner again. Sexual desire mainly arises when new erotic facets are perceived in your partner. This applies both to the body and to sex itself. Lingerie has proven to be a good way to show your body in a new erotic light. Your naked body should be well known to your partner. However, if you wrap it in hot lingerie, men's imaginations will be stimulated. He will embark on a new journey of discovery instead of continuing to wander down familiar paths. Once you have tried this, there are even more ways to rekindle your lover's sexual desire. Use sex toys or role-playing games as new erotic stimuli. Show your partner what makes you really hot. Men really like it when women let them know what gives them pleasure!
