It slips: alternatives to personal lubricant
Aloe vera: The plant is known for many things, especially in the beauty sector. And it also works excellently as a lubricant substitute. Simply cut open the leaves and squeeze out the gel. It protects the mucous membranes and is highly lubricating.
Saliva: Are you raising your eyebrows right now? Saliva is the oldest household remedy when it comes to lubrication. And totally skin-friendly! Provided, of course, that you are healthy and no bacteria, pathogens etc. are transferred to other people.
Intimatecreams: If this is all you have to hand, then that's fine too. However, intimate creams should really only be used in an emergency. Please do not use any other creams, they should be suitable for the intimate area.
Massage gels: These are also a good alternative if they can also be used in the intimate area. Otherwise, keep your hands off them.

These lubricant alternatives are not recommended
Oils: Coconut oil, olive oil or other oils are not a good idea! They belong in the pan, but not in the genital area.
Body lotion: Never use body lotion - the pH value of these products is usually between 9 and 11, which is why infections of the vaginal flora are inevitable. Even if they do not contain alcohol or perfume, which many do, they are completely unsuitable for the sensitive intimate area.
It is therefore very important that a lubricant substitute not only provides lubrication, but is also free from additives and oils - especially if there are intolerances and condoms are used for contraception.
