Blossom festival and presentation of the new vintage
Where? Freinsheim (Palatinate) When? 09 & 10.04.2016
Spring really gets going in April. Fruit blossom begins everywhere and entire landscapes are covered in a glorious sea of flowers. In the wine-growing regions, people get into the spring mood with traditional blossom festivals. Winegrowers proudly present the new vintages from the fall harvest and wines can be tasted and enjoyed on every corner.
The medieval town of Freinsheim in the Palatinate exudes a very special charm. Just one hour from Frankfurt am Main and only 20 minutes from Mannheim, you can spend an enjoyable weekend here. Numerous wineries, wine estates and restaurants invite you to visit and taste their wines, the vineyards can be hiked or taken on a relaxed horse-drawn carriage ride and the spring landscape refreshes all the senses.
The opening of the Blossom Festival will take place on April 9th at 11:30 am in front of the Freinsheim town hall. Further information can be found on the event flyer.
Long Night of Wines
Where? Stuttgart When? 08 & 09.04.2016
Are classic wine tastings too stuffy for you? Then the concept of the Long Night of Wines is definitely the right thing for you: In a relaxed, urban atmosphere, young winegrowers from all the major German wine-growing regions present their best wines. Up to 100 different wines can be tasted completely free of charge. There will also be culinary delicacies from the region, as well as street food and Mediterranean specialties.
If you particularly like one of the wines, you can order it directly from the producer and have it sent to your home. After the tasting, you can then celebrate with boxes full of bottles without a care in the world. In the video below you can see some wonderful impressions of the last event in Cologne. You can find out everything else on the organizer's website.
