When I'm in a rosé mood, I like to choose a rosé from Provence - the reference region for distinctive and spicy rosés that should be enjoyed with food. This is not just any rosé from Provence, no, this is Brangelina at work. Is it really necessary to recommend a celebrity wine that costs a few thalers more than usual? Well, I was also skeptical when I tasted the first Miraval Rosé a few years ago, but I liked it straight away and it had everything I expect from a Provençal rosé. In addition, the top qualities of excellent rosés from Provence are in a similar price range. Try it and dream - of Provence, of the Mediterranean, of the fine scent of herbs and lavender, of summer picnics, ...

The wine
Rich coral pink, a red berry bouquet complemented by subtle herbal notes, fresh on the palate with invigorating acidity and medium body - a wine that lingers pleasantly on the palate. A touch of minerality and almost salinity show its good origin from an excellent terroir. The red grape varieties Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah are very typical of the region, as is the white Rolle, which is also known under the grape variety name Vermentino. The grapes are harvested and vinified separately. Cinsault and Grenache are extracted by lightly pressing the grapes and leaving them to stand for a short time; only the must is extracted from the Rolle anyway and the Saignée method is used for Syrah. A small proportion of 5% is matured in wooden barrels, the rest in stainless steel tanks.
The winegrower and the region
Château Miraval has been owned by Brat Pitt and Angelina Jolie for a few years now. It is an old castle from the 17th century, beautifully situated in the middle of forests, vineyards and olive groves. A good 500 hectares of land belong to the castle. The vineyards are 350 meters above sea level. This provides an ideal Mediterranean climate of warm days and cool nights. The grapes ripen wonderfully, but retain their acid structure, which gives the wines an enchanting freshness. Brangelina has enlisted the help of one of the best and most famous winegrowing families in the region for the winemaking process - the Perrin family, known for their Châteauneuf-du-Pape Château de Beaucastel.
Pairs perfectly with
Grilled vegetables and fish, Mediterranean salad, scampi or spicy red smear cheese.
