Sonja has found love again at the age of 47

Happiness can be many things - for some it is a new car, for others a dream trip or simply time out with the family. Giving joy or hitting the jackpot can also mean pure happiness. For Sonja, it's the love of her life, which she unexpectedly found again at the age of 47.

Sometimes happiness surprises you when you least expect it. Sonja found the love of her life at 47.

"Getting married again was no longer an issue for me after my divorce 10 years ago. I had already had a bad marriage, so I could do without a repeat.

A tough battle to achieve financial independence

My ex left me and our two children in the lurch. Viktor and Marie were just five and seven years old. I had to fight hard to even put enough food on the table for us, but I managed it. And I swore to myself back then that I would never be financially dependent on a man again.

The unexpected often happens

My children are now almost grown up and I have built a fulfilling life for myself. I no longer hoped for love, and I didn't want 'just anyone' anymore. Then I met Gerd while hiking. Polite, charming, humorous, clever - I liked him immediately. At 47, I had butterflies in my stomach. I didn't trust my feelings, I was afraid of being hurt again. But then I listened to my heart and got involved with him. To this day, I haven't regretted it for a second, because that's how I found happiness."
