Thermal massages with herbal stamps
In the classic Pantai Luar treatment (translated: "on new shores"), the body is first anointed with warm oils, then a herbal stamp is heated to 120 degrees in the same oil and pulled over the skin in very rapid movements. This simulates a burn to the thermoreceptors, which does not actually take place. However, the body reacts with different repair actions, which all take place simultaneously. With unimaginable speed, damaged cells are broken down, existing ones activated and new ones produced. Even connective tissue structures are strengthened.
Initially, the herbal stamp only touches the skin very briefly in lightning-fast longitudinal movements. Once it has cooled down, the massage moves on to shorter, rolling and pressing movements. The ingredients dissolved in oil are applied to the skin. At the same time, the essential aromatic oils have a direct effect on the limbic system, calming, exhilarating or revitalizing, depending on the herbal blend, but in any case relaxing.
Every beauty institute has its own recipes for the magic blends of the full-bodied bundles of energy. If the skin is to receive extra caresses, for example, regenerating rose or soothing tamarind extracts are added. If they are used for fat reduction in cellulite treatment, additives such as firming lime, revitalizing lemongrass or camphor to stimulate circulation are added. The herbal bundles are not always heated in oil either. Steam is the gentle alternative.
Many Thai women make their own massage stamps for home use. For example, with ingredients from the herbal kitchen of the Oriental Spa in Bangkok: prai (Thai ginger) to relieve muscle tension and joint pain, turmeric to revitalize the skin, lemongrass against skin impurities, kaffir lime to get the circulation going, camphor to heal minor inflammations.

High-quality base oils (sesame, jojoba and almond oil) are used for the massages, which are combined with the bioenergies (doshas).
(doshas) and enriched with individual fragrance concentrates. This form of massage is an optimal combination of fragrance and touch. In addition to calming and relaxing the body, it also stimulates internal and external detoxification. Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Nui massage
Lomi Lomi Nui is a traditional form of massage from Hawaii. In the local language, lomi means to rub, knead or press, and the doubling reinforces this meaning. Nui means big, important or unique. This massage was practiced by shamanic healers (Kahuna). Each healer developed their own massage style according to family tradition and lore, so that even in Hawaii there was never just one "real" Lomi style. It only became popular in Europe at the end of the 20th century, primarily as a wellness massage.
The massage is intended to release blockages on a physical and emotional level and restore the harmony of body, mind and soul. Lomi Lomi Nui uses a lot of oil. The practitioner works not only with the hands, but with the entire forearm including the elbows. The movements are generally flowing and slightly rocking, and the treatment is accompanied by Hawaiian chants. The intensity of the massage can vary, even within one treatment. It can be very gentle and calming, but it can also be demanding and painful in order to release deep-seated tension.

La Stone Therapy
The use of tempered stones to treat tense muscles is nothing new. The Chinese have been using this method since 2000 BC and La Stone therapy also has its origins in Native American medicine. La Stone is therefore not a new form of therapy, but rather a rediscovered natural healing method that was developed in the 1990s by the American
Mary Nelson as a wellness therapy. The La Stone treatment uses 72 stones. Of these, 54 are basalt stones of volcanic origin. These remain warm for much longer than other stones. Heated to 50 degrees Celsius in a water bath, they are used for massage and application.
The remaining 18 are specially cut marble stones that are packed in ice and cooled. You then lie on the hot and cold stones and at the same time other stones are placed on the energy centers of the body and massaged with them. The stimulation through hot and cold stimuli works in a similar way to a classic Kneipp treatment.
The tapping of stone on stone creates vibrations that are transmitted directly into the body. The resulting characteristic sound, the elemental forces and the extreme temperature differences of the stones release deep-seated energy blockages in the chakras (energy channels), resulting in a very special relaxation experience.
This is an increasingly popular type of massage, which is mainly used for stress and muscle tension, for chronic and acute problems and brings about a balance in the body. Blood circulation is stimulated, tension is relieved and lymphatic flow is supported.
