Making frames shine

Before we clean the windows, it's first time to clean the frames and handles: clean with a damp eraser, remove coarse stains with a cloth and washing-up liquid. For wooden frames, apply a care product to protect against weathering.

Windows: cleaning made easy

Remove dust and pollen with a soft brush, use a wet sponge for stubborn stains. Instead of expensive cleaners, you can also use home remedies to clean windows. Prepare window cleaning solution: To do this, pour 3 liters of lukewarm water into a bucket, add 1 squirt of washing-up liquid (not balsamic washing-up liquid, as this forms a film), 1 capful of white spirit and a few drops of glycerine. This will clean the window without leaving streaks. Do not use glass cleaner as it sticks and leaves streaks.

This gives a shiny result

To clean windows properly, they must be thoroughly soaped with the lye. Using a microfiber cloth or a sponge, wipe in a circular motion, first from top to bottom, then from left to right. Soda or pharmacy alcohol can also help to remove hard-to-remove greasy films. Use a squeegee to remove the dirty water from top to bottom. Wipe the rubber lip dry with a cloth each time. Wipe with chamois leather and polish away any streaks with an old pair of nylon tights. Do not use newspaper as it often leaves behind printing ink.
