Dry skin not only needs care and attention in winter, it should also be well protected and cared for in summer.

It tightens and itches or even reacts with redness. Many people are familiar with this problem: In Germany alone, almost every second woman complains of extremely sensitive skin. Care is needed! We can bring it back into balance with a few tricks.

Flowing fabrics

Soft clothing prevents irritation: Scratchy textiles and towels can stress the skin. Better: choose fluffy and breathable fibers. And always avoid perfumed washing powder - it can cause irritation.

Shower properly

Moisturizing shower gel does not dry out the skin: As good as it feels, an extensive shower can dry out and stress the skin in the long term. We should therefore not spend longer than three minutes in the warm water. A moisturizing shower gel is gentle on sensitive skin during care and cleansing.

Mild cleansing

Gentle products refresh the skin: sebum and dirt build up on the face during the day. In the evening, it is therefore essential to gently cleanse the complexion. A soap-free lotion is the right choice for this. Apply cream thoroughly afterwards.

Strengthen naturally

The skin is covered with a protective film of sebum. This so-called skin barrier protects it from drying out. A body lotion with shea butter helps to strengthen this function.

Intensive treatment

A moisturizing mask with urea nourishes the neck and décolleté. Apply and remove after 10-15 minutes with soft cotton pads.

Repair

Scaly and rough areas can be made smooth again with a fatty ointment from the pharmacy. Massage thinly into the skin.

Less is more

Preservatives, colorants and fragrances can irritate: creams and lotions should be chosen carefully so that sensitive skin is not unnecessarily stressed during care. Cosmetics specifically for allergic skin are considered to be well tolerated. They do not contain fragrances or preservatives and do not contain any plant additives that could trigger allergies. Before using new products, it is also advisable to test them on a small area of skin for a few days first.

Special make-up

For sensitive facial skin: Care with extra-mild products prevents irritation. Care should also be taken when removing make-up - vigorous rubbing and rubbing can cause redness. If you like to beautify yourself with powder, blusher or mascara, it is therefore better to use extra-mild products from the pharmacy. Their soft textures are gentle on the skin and eyelashes and provide them with plenty of moisture at the same time.

Instant help

An aloe vera gel soothes itching and cools: If the skin is already red and damaged, it can be soothed with natural aloe vera gel. The natural gel from the desert plant provides plenty of moisture and reduces inflammation on the skin.

Refresh and soothe

Wind and heating air as well as sunlight also attack sensitive skin. The result: dryness and itching. A thermal water spray is now the best choice. Unlike ordinary tap water, it contains a lot of selenium. The mineral has an anti-inflammatory effect. Store in the fridge and spray onto the skin as required.

Pamper and prevent

If your complexion is tight and burning, it lacks moisture and lipids. A day cream with panthenol helps sensitive skin to retain moisture better and soothes irritation and redness. Creams in pump dispensers or tubes are ideal. They only ever release the required amount. This means that significantly fewer germs and bacteria can get into the cream, which could weaken the skin.
