Detect skin cancer early

There are various forms of white and black skin cancer. This carcinoma has various precursors that can be seen and felt. You should therefore keep a close eye on your skin and see a dermatologist immediately if you notice any changes. From the age of 35, health insurance pays for a screening every two years.

Recognizing white and black skin cancer

White skin cancer manifests itself in roughened areas on the skin, whitish-grey nodules, bumpy skin growths and recurring bleeding. Black skin cancer, on the other hand, is easier to detect as it usually develops from moles or resembles moles.

Chances of recovery with early detection

If the cancer is detected early, the chances of a cure are very good. The ABCD rule makes it easy to recognize the first symptoms of dangerous black skin cancer.

ABCD rule

A Asymmetry

The dark spot is unevenly shaped.

B Boundary

It has uneven and rough edges without a firm border.

C Color

The patch has different light and dark colors.

D Diameter

It is larger than five millimeters at its widest point.
