How do pimples or even acne develop?
There are three causes of pimples and acne:
- The skin produces more sebum.
- A keratinization disorder prevents the flow of sebum.
- Bacteria accumulate.
The cornification disorder leads to a blockage of the skin pores, which initially results in blackheads. This can occur on the face, chest and back. As the disease progresses, pimples and papules can form from the blackheads and, in the worst case, scars can remain if the inflammation does not heal well. In addition, the skin pH value shifts due to the increased sebum flow. This reduces the resistance of the skin barrier, i.e. the body's own skin protection.
What can be done against acne?
If acne pimples sprout, you don't have to put up with it. On the contrary: with consistent care and mild products, it is possible to significantly improve the appearance of the skin. But what is the best skin care for acne? It is best to follow the following skin care tips:
1. regular cleansing as a basis: proper cleansing is important for blemished skin with acne. Aggressive soaps and degreasing cleansing products weaken the skin's protective acid mantle and can cause inflammation. Soap-free syndets and mild skin care products are the better choice here.
2 Cooling and soothing: After gentle cleansing, it is advisable to use a soothing and cooling toner. This strengthens the skin's protective layer and increases skin hydration.
3. regulate sebum production: In the case of acne, an excess of sebum contributes to the development of skin inflammation. The aim must therefore be to reduce the amount of sebum to a normal level. Sebum-reducing gel creams can do a good job of this.
4. acidic makes you beautiful: With a slightly acidic pH value (4.8-5.5 is ideal), the skin protects us from pathogens. If this value is too high, pathogenic bacteria colonize and cause inflammation. However, by lowering the pH value with the help of "acidic" care (e.g. with salicylic acid), natural acid protection can be restored. Fruit acid products are also suitable for keeping the skin pores clear, as they can remove dead skin cells.
5. targeted against pimples: Fruit acids also help in the targeted treatment of pimples. The DERMASENCE Seborra Acute Rollerball works with pinpoint accuracy. It contains the fruit acids salicylic acid and gluconolactone. Salicylic acid softens the pore-clogging horny plug and gluconolactone counteracts the formation of new blackheads. Added to this is urea, an ingredient that makes the sebum more fluid and thus improves its drainage.
6 Lots of moisture, little oil: Daily care for acne should meet a number of requirements: Light, moisturizing products with a low fat content have the best effect. They must not be comedogenic, i.e. they must not cause blackheads (med.: comedo).
7. protect the skin: Skin affected by acne reacts to some external stimuli with a worsening of the condition: if you squeeze out pimples yourself (instead of having them professionally cleaned out) and apply pore-clogging make-up, you will not get any closer to the goal of healthy skin, but will experience a worsening of the skin condition.
If you follow these tips, you can take a few big steps towards clear skin. The skin analysis will tell you which DERMASENCE products can support you on this path.
