Around 65% of 40 to 49-year-olds consider a day without stress to be happiness. This was the result of a representative survey conducted by "Idee für mich" in collaboration with Emnid. Staying relaxed and reducing stress - easier said than done. Muscles and joints can be a real pain. Fortunately, however, there is quick help and relaxation exercises to combat these ailments.

Back problems

Symptoms : A wrong movement, a careless turn, lifting a heavy load in an unaccustomed way - and the low back pain is there, which can radiate from the back to the legs.

Causes: One-sided strain due to a sedentary lifestyle, ingrained posture patterns, but also overloading due to excess weight or incorrect exercises during sport.

What helps: A heated cherry stone cushion, a warm bath or a visit to the sauna. Because: Heat heats up the pain and relaxes the muscles.

Tension

Symptoms: The neck is stiff, the slightest movement of the head immediately triggers a sharp pain. In the worst cases, dizziness and headaches also occur. And this happens early in the morning.

Causes: Anxiety, excessive demands, incorrect strain and lack of exercise are the main causes. If the pain persists, inflammation can also be the trigger.

Joint pain

Symptoms: pain when climbing stairs, difficulty lifting a pen, difficulty holding a hairdryer. Every movement hurts, especially in the morning, right after getting up you feel ancient.

Causes: In most cases, joint pain is caused by wear and tear. However, inflammation and injuries are also triggers.

What helps: Cooling compresses can relieve acute pain. The effect is noticeable after about 20 to 30 seconds.

Sprain

Symptoms: Swelling, pain and often a bruise are the most certain signs of a sprain. At rest, you can also often feel a dull throbbing in the affected joint.

Causes: A stumbling step on high heels, a careless movement during sport. Sprains are the result of a joint being violently overstretched.

This helps: Apply a compress to the painful joint. Reinforced with menthol oil, this has a cooling effect. A few drops of rosemary oil will relieve the pain immediately.
