30 years
Those who start their retirement provision from the age of 30 benefit from interest and compound interest over long terms. This is why endowment insurance is recommended at the current low interest rates. Problem: Those who work part-time because of children earn little money. Nevertheless, pension provision is worthwhile. Example: You are 35 years old and still have 30 years until you retire. That's 360 months. Multiplied by 100 euros per month, that's 36,000 euros. At www.hannoversche.de, for example, you can see what this can become: 39,176 euros guaranteed benefit, 53,192 euros possible maturity balance. The payout amount is usually somewhere in between.
40 years
With an endowment insurance policy, you would have to pay in twice as much from the age of 40 to achieve the same amount as at the age of 30. The Riester pension, on the other hand, is particularly attractive for mothers with part-time or mini-jobs. This is because the basic state subsidy of 154 euros per year is also available during parental leave when the mother is not working. Savings rates can be adjusted according to financial circumstances. The state pays an extra 185 euros for each child, and as much as 300 euros for a child born after 2008. Everything applies from 5 euros per month. And: 2,100 euros per year are tax-free.
50 years
An endowment policy only works for retirement provision from the age of 50 with high rates. The cheaper option: Riester pension and company pension scheme: Part of your gross salary is converted into an additional pension. This amount is later paid out by the state - plus a premium. Every employee is entitled to this. The highlight: as the installment is deducted from your gross salary, it doesn't hurt as much. You pay in 200 euros and only get 100 euros less. And: you even save on taxes, as your gross salary is reduced. What's more: 4,440 euros per year are tax-free and 2,640 euros are exempt from social security contributions.
60 years
For retirement provision from the age of 60, an investment with secure interest rates is ideal: German government securities, pension funds, savings bonds. However, they are not particularly lucrative due to low interest rates. If you like risk, try the stock market. Experts have long observed that housewives generate higher returns than men. The reason: they act more realistically. The Rürup pension is ideal for the self-employed or freelancers. You can determine the contributions yourself and they are deducted from your annual income. The taxable income is reduced. This pays off five years before retirement.
