What is that anyway?
The care support points are run jointly by the local authorities and the statutory health insurance funds. There are now 467, and the number is growing all the time. You can find your nearest one by calling your health insurance company or via the Internet, for example at www.pflegestuetzpunkte-deutschlandweit.de
Who can get advice?
Those affected and their relatives can find answers to their questions there. But anyone who is worried about their elderly neighbor can also find help. It doesn't have to be an acute case. Or do you need support for a family member because you are going on vacation? Then you are also in the right place.
How do they help?
The advice is comprehensive. The staff will listen to your concerns and needs and can tell you what statutory benefits you are entitled to, for example if your home needs to be adapted for the elderly or disabled. They also help with filling out applications. Moreover, advice is not only provided at the care support centers. On request, the staff will also come to the homes of those affected and their relatives or talk to them on the phone.
What does the service cost?
This great service is free of charge. It is an additional offer from the health and long-term care insurance funds for all those with statutory health insurance. All privately insured persons in Germany can contact the Compass care advice service (Tel.: 08 00/1 01 88 00).
