Care tips: Go for richness!
Lipids and moisture are the two saviors in need. Lipids and moisture-binding substances such as urea and hyaluronic acid make your skin smooth and supple again. You can use a little more: creams can now be particularly rich, unsaturated fatty acids such as those contained in argan, almond or evening primrose oil can repair skin on the face and body that has been deprived of moisture. Olive oil and shea butter are also good allies in the fight against dry skin in winter. The secret lies in the right combination: make sure that your skin care products contain both high-quality lipids and moisturizing substances.
Certain areas of skin are often not only dry, but also very irritated. Our skin care tips for particularly sensitive areas such as elbows, knees and shins: creams and ointments with soothing active ingredients such as allantoin and D-panthenol not only provide care, but also help to relieve itching.
Become water-shy!
One of the most important care tips for dry skin is to avoid water. Any contact with water dries out the skin even more. In winter, put the brakes on water: shower for a maximum of 15 minutes, preferably lukewarm. Use moisturizing shower lotions or oils instead of shower gel. When removing make-up, use a gentle cleansing milk instead of a cleansing gel.
Extra care tips for your hands: Night treatment with cotton gloves
As the skin on the hands has few sebaceous glands and fatty tissue, dry skin is inevitable. So apply cream to your hands after every wash! A cream that provides nourishing oils and plenty of moisture is recommended. A night treatment also makes your hands soft to the touch: apply a generous amount of cream to your hands from the nails to the wrist before going to bed. Then put on cotton gloves so that the cream can penetrate the skin particularly well while you sleep. Your hands will be smooth and supple the next morning.
Care tips for your mane
Hair has different needs in winter than in summer, and the dry heating air is also a problem. Hair tends to split ends and feels straw-like and limp. The right hair care: When washing, use shampoos with a low pH value that are also enriched with oils. Moisturizing shampoos with soothing panthenol or hyaluronic acid are also a good choice.
Only use lukewarm water when washing your hair, as water that is too hot opens the hair cuticle and removes oil. Too much heat is also harmful when drying: set the hair dryer to medium heat, which is gentler. Condition your hair at least once a week. If you wrap your hair in a towel during the application time, the effect is enhanced. The active ingredients penetrate deeper into the hair due to the heat. Then rinse well with lukewarm water.
