The pope of sexology, Volkmar Sigusch, has recorded the answers to all the many questions he has been asked over the course of his career in his book. And they seem to have been interesting questions. What is particularly interesting about some of them is who asked them. The result is a very different kind of sex ABC. If you are only looking for explanations of sexual practices, you may be disappointed. This is because it is about sexuality in a broader context. It is true that anal eroticism can also be found here. But even the blow job is replaced by terms such as bastinado, age of desire or most popular German. I have picked out five noteworthy terms for you and added my own thoughts. I found what I was looking for with the letter B.
Age of desire
Where we stand sexually is not as random as it might seem. Sexology divides our sexual preference, i.e. the direction in which we love, into three axes:
- Sexual orientation determines whether we are into men, women or both.
- Sexual orientation determines the physical developmental age of our desired object, whether childlike, adolescent or adult.
- And sexual orientation describes the type of person we like and our sexual preferences.
Sigusch now turns his attention to sexual orientation, i.e. age, under the letter B. And he writes that people are psychosocially the same age as the people they desire. So if a man in his 70s likes women who are 20 to 30 years old, he too will still feel and behave like this young age, "as long as this is possible despite calcification, flaccidity and dementia".
Genitive
"Social origin can be recognized quite reliably by the use of the genitive or the dative, not by the use of the genitals." Sigusch writes, thus concluding this point. So we are welcome to think a little ourselves here. That's what I'm doing. And I think it's great!
There really is a connection between social background and language. Because language has something to do with the level of education. And as we all know, the chances of a really good education are poor for children from less educated families. And educationally disadvantaged families are generally those with a lower income. Even the Pisa shock hasn't changed much in this respect. So the higher the income and social status, the more education and therefore the more sophisticated the use of language. If we disregard dialects, which have their very own grammar rules.
But none of this really has anything to do with sexuality. According to studies, people with a low or medium level of education are actually the most sexually active! Higher educated people, on the other hand, seem to divert their desires into other activities. Perhaps there is more to the saying: "Are you already playing golf or are you still having sex?" ;-)
Love scammers
Who isn't out and about on social networks! And we all know that not everyone presents themselves as they really are. But now there are apparently men who don't even exist and still manage to sneak into the hearts and, above all, wallets of men and women.
According to the police crime prevention department, 95 percent of English-speaking contacts on German dating sites are romance or love scammers, as they are also known. The pictures are stolen and therefore usually blurred. Or they advertise with lots of naked skin. Anyone who is too gullible and falls for the love stories with wedding plans is asked for money, a trip to Germany or at least a visa. Anyone who is scammed should immediately break off all contact and get involved in NOTHING! There really is no potential love waiting! I swear!
Osphresiology
This term is derived from the Greek osphresis and means sense of smell. Anyone who has ever really wanted to get a whiff of someone knows how important smells are for us. Babies smell like babies, triggering the kiss and cuddle reflex in most people. The expression "being able to smell someone" is based on this very pragmatic experience.
- Smells control our feelings and memories.
- They control our consumer behavior, influence our well-being and often even our mood.
However, we can also be manipulated by smells. And this is precisely what the economy has discovered for itself. I would like to cite the smell of freshly roasted popcorn as an example that I have experienced myself. It reaches our nostrils before we even enter the movie theater, which certainly puts us in the mood to buy it. The prices are really crazy. But I can't explain why so many people spend so much money on a few kernels of corn. And at this very moment, I'm thinking about going to the movies today. POPCORN! I'm also convinced that baby smells are spread in shoe and bag stores. Because it's always hard to resist the kiss and cuddle effect there ;-)
Sacrofricosis
That sounds like something to do with apricots. But I can't explain the origin of this word. And Mr. Sigusch, who usually likes to cite the Greek meaning, unfortunately refrains from doing so here. It refers to the preference of some gentlemen to masturbate through a hole in their trouser pocket. Of course, men don't do this in the privacy of their own homes, but rather in public.
Anyone waiting in a queue in the near future is welcome to pass the time by exposing sacrofricosics. However, when I think about how many men walk around with their hands in their trouser pockets, I start to wonder. Maybe they all have a hole in them?
