Recipe: Baking Florentines at Christmas time

In addition to cinnamon stars, vanilla crescents and shortbread cookies, we look forward to another Christmas baking classic during the Advent season: Florentines. You can easily bake these cookies yourself and it's quick too. We reveal the perfect Florentine recipe for your Advent coffee here.

Ingredients for Florentines

  • 100 g whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 50 g honey
  • 50 g cherries
  • 200 g flaked almonds
  • 250 g dark chocolate coating

Recipe for Florentines

  1. Mix the whipping cream, flour and sugar in a pan and heat up. Stir in the honey and bring to the boil briefly. Turn off the heat.
  2. Stir in the finely chopped cherries and flaked almonds.
  3. Using a round cookie cutter, make circles on a baking tray.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes at 175°C (top/bottom heat). Leave to cool.
  5. Dip the reverse side in melted dark chocolate coating.
