Body massage against pain
The ancient Romans already knew how good a professional massage is more than 2,000 years ago: Julius Caesar, for example, had regular massages to get his headaches under control. And we know it from ourselves too: If something hurts, we instinctively knead or press the area with our fingers to relieve the pain.
For back pain
Many doctors prescribe classic, professional massage for muscle tension in the upper and lower lumbar spine. It is often referred to as the "Swedish massage" because the Swedish gymnastics teacher Pehr Henrik Ling (1776-1839) ensured that massage was finally recognized by conventional medicine at the beginning of the 19th century.
Offers for connoisseurs
But not only patients with back pain benefit from this treatment. There are many forms of body massage that can also be used as an accompanying therapy for venous insufficiency, irritable bowel syndrome, migraines or tinnitus. And - of course - we also enjoy them "just because". Not only physiotherapy practices, but also many wellness centers offer massages. There are now lots of offers.
