The right choice

With meat from animal-friendly farming, families and friends treat themselves to something good and set an example for better living conditions for farm animals with their purchase. In addition to organic meat, pork and chicken are also available in shops with labels from recognized animal welfare organizations.

Store properly

Packaged meat from the supermarket that is kept in the fridge for longer than a day must be kept at the recommended refrigeration temperature of usually two degrees . Otherwise the best-before date loses its validity. Loose meat should preferably be bought on the day of preparation, at most the day before. Packaged goods are recommended due to their longer shelf life. Raw meat must never come into contact with other foods that are no longer being heated!

In the kitchen

Only take the raw meat out of the fridge just before the sizzling fun at Christmas. It should also not be left uncooled on the table for long. Therefore, put a small amount on the table first and replenish as needed! If your hands have come into contact with raw meat, they should be thoroughly washed and dried before touching anything else.

Use extra plates for the raw pieces of meat! Under no circumstances should the raw fondue meat come into contact with salad, bread, cooked meat or other delicacies on the table. The meat in the fondue pot should always be cooked thoroughly.

Using up leftovers

If there is any raw meat left over from the Christmas fondue that has not been cooled on the table, it should ideally be cooked through on the same evening. The remaining pieces of meat can then be safely stored in the fridge for another two to three days.
