Time to live Part 14: Just switch off for a while

When the hustle and bustle of the festive season is over, we can finally relax - or can we? Even if we start the new year full of energy and with numerous good intentions, it is important to slow down from time to time, pay attention to our own needs and do something good for body and soul.

Simply switch off: Treat yourself to a little time for yourself more often.

Schedule time off for regeneration

Arrange fixed times when you are not available and don't have to worry about anything. Your loved ones will understand that you need these islands of peace to regenerate.

Use gentle exercise to recharge your batteries

Proper recovery also means not neglecting your body. A long walk after lunch, romping around in the snow or a trip to the swimming pool: enjoy how this clears your head and gives you new strength and energy. Meditation also helps wonderfully. It is often enough to concentrate on your breathing for a few minutes with your eyes closed. This makes you feel secure in the here and now.

Feel gratitude for greater well-being

It is so good to focus on what you have already achieved and to see all the wonderful things that surround us. Above all, of course, the people we love. Feeling and living gratitude is a great gift for our well-being.

Dive in and discover new worlds

When was the last time you made yourself comfortable on the sofa with a good book? Snuggled up in a blanket with hot chocolate and snacks? Everyday life is already far away, you enter another world, experience adventures, become a heroine ... Just dive in!

Look back and consciously reflect

Take a look back at the good and difficult moments of the past year - without judging them. Say goodbye to the year and thank yourself for the experiences that have made you richer. Then put it behind you and look to the future carefree and without worries.

Be inspired, take advice

Catch up on conversations with friends, relatives and acquaintances, which are often neglected in everyday life. Talk openly about yourself and your needs. Share your fears and worries and let others inspire you: They may have helpful tips on how you can better meet your needs in the future.

Lower your own expectations

You can only de-stress if you do without. You don't have to do everything. Especially not perfectly. No one in your family or your guests will benefit if everything is chic - and you're all washed up.

5 anti-stress tips

Stop the carousel of thoughts and create your own feel-good moments - suggestions for everyday life.

1 Wait and see and drink tea: Even the ritual of enjoying a cup of tea in peace helps you to relax, and the right type of tea can work wonders: Hops, valerian and lemon balm calm you down sip by sip.

2 Shake out yourlegs and arms one after the other, then your whole upper body thoroughly - and thus automatically relieve tension and stress.

3 Come and cuddle: Whether it's your loved ones or our pets - stroking and physical contact are calming and provide a sense of security and serenity.

4 Stand up straight, bend one leg towards the other. Bring your hands together in front of your body and hold for a few breaths. Switch legs. Relaxes, promotes strength and balance.

5 Studies show that regular knitting lowers stress levels and blood pressure and gives us feelings of happiness through the release of serotonin. Great stitch!
