Even if it's just a few minutes, take time for yourself before you start the day.

Rituals are helpful to start the day in a more stress-free and mindful way, as we focus only on ourselves and take time for ourselves. It is important to think about what I want and what is good for me. These can be very different things. We have a few suggestions for small morning rituals that will help you start the day in a more positive way.

Listen to your favorite music or a podcast

Listening to something we like in the morning has a positive effect on our mood, as our mind is still refreshed in the morning. Music has a significant influence on our mood. So listen to your favorite music as soon as you get up. Or how about a good podcast to wake you up? There are now podcasts for pretty much every area of life and every field of interest. Audio books are also great for the morning, as we can listen to them while brushing our teeth in the bathroom or at breakfast.

Meditation or yoga

Meditation is an ideal ritual for the morning. This mindfulness exercise is designed to calm our minds. It is best to meditate for about ten minutes a day.

Yoga also helps to start the day in a mindful and relaxed way.

Gratitude

Even if it may sound trite, list three things you are grateful for every day. It doesn't matter what it is, even small things count, because in this way you become aware of what you have and what you can be grateful for. This list helps you to start the day in a mindful and positive way.

Set goals

Set yourself goals for the day. Small to-do lists are helpful here. They create structure and we can see in the evening what we have achieved. However, we shouldn't put ourselves under too much pressure by setting ourselves too many goals for the day, but set ourselves realistic and achievable goals.

Fresh air

A few minutes on the balcony or in the garden to enjoy the peace and quiet and wake up while enjoying a coffee or tea is nice. A short walk also helps to wake you up, clears your head and exercise in the fresh air is good for you. If you like a bit of exercise in the morning, jog around the block.
