After over 3 months of intensive data collection, this information was summarized in the ORION Sex Report 2018. How else could you find out what the average German's favorite position or favorite place to have sex is? Or did you know that 24% of all penis pumps are bought by women?
Naked numbers
At the beginning of the survey, general demographic points were asked. It soon became clear that the information provided covered a wide spectrum, as both 18-year-olds and over-70s took part in the survey. Almost every second respondent had sexual experience with 1 - 5 sexual partners. This was the number of previous sexual partners. 70% of respondents stated that their favorite place to make love was on the kitchen table, the floor, the couch or a similar place, closely followed by the classic bed. However, the office or a strange apartment would also be an interesting alternative for almost 40% of respondents to get closer to their sexual partner. Over 50% stated that they like to experiment when it comes to lovemaking positions. The clear favorite is the doggy style, i.e. sex from behind. It's not for nothing that we talk about animalistic lovemaking. And how are love toys used here? Similar to the positions, Germans also like to experiment with toys. 63% stated that they like to use sex toys for experiments. Men and women don't just think about themselves, but also about their partner, as over 50% use the toys both for masturbation and to stimulate their relationship. 39% of the women surveyed have more than two sex toys.
Let's talk about sex
As we all know, sexuality doesn't just begin with foreplay and end at climax. Sex can be omnipresent and should also be part of conversations. This is also the opinion of 74% of those surveyed, as they talk to their partner about sex and their fantasies. 24% also share information with close friends and 4% go one step further and discuss it with colleagues at work. But what do these fantasies that are discussed look like? At the top of the list of desired types of play is role play with 47%, closely followed by threesomes with 42%. However, 34% of respondents could also imagine bondage play. Those who like it a little harder resort to BDSM practices. A quarter of those surveyed would consider this. Some types of play are no longer fantasies, but are already being lived out to some extent. For example, 19% of respondents regularly enjoy anal sex, while 10% have already had their first experience with same-sex partners. Just over 30% could even imagine visiting a swingers club. However, partner swapping is categorically ruled out by the majority. In general, it can be said that just over 50% can live out most of their fantasies.
In addition to the wishes regarding certain preferences, there are also wishes regarding the number of lovemaking sessions. For example, 41% of respondents have sex 1 - 4 times a month, but over 50% would like to have sex 5 - 14 times a month. Almost 40% would even prefer to have sex every other day. But is there any cheating involved? Even faking orgasms? 47% claim that they would never fake an orgasm, with just under 30% assuming that they have faked an orgasm at least once.
Whichever way you look at it, sexuality remains huge and offers an opportunity to constantly reinvent yourself, develop further and have fun doing it. Figures from a sex report like this often give directions, but in the end it only matters what you want and how far you want to go. Almost half of those surveyed see love and sex going hand in hand. If you don't see it that way, it's perfectly legitimate. The main thing is that it makes you happy!
