Peeler instead of a knife
Of course, you cook boiled potatoes without the skin. Use a peeler, as you won't cut off the skin as thickly. The correct technique is to peel the long sides first and then the ends.
Get rid of the skin!
For potato salad, for example, the tuber is first boiled and then peeled. The usual method: spike the potato and peel off the skin with a knife. But there is a much quicker way: score the skin all around the middle of the potato before cooking. When they are cooked, place them directly in a bowl of ice water. Wait approx. 20 to 30 seconds - then you can simply peel the skin off with your hands. No fiddling about at all.
