Allowing feelings and creating an outlet
If an issue is bothering us a lot and is weighing heavily on our minds, we need a way to let it go effectively. Don't hide your feelings. Shout if you feel like it because you are angry. Cry when you are sad. Tears are not a sign of weakness or a negative thing. On the contrary: they help you to let go of your worries, relax and look ahead with renewed strength and energy.
Change your perspective and reassess things
It is also helpful to pause for a moment and take a step back. From the eagle's eye view from above, apparent problems suddenly no longer seem so big. Ask yourself whether it is really worth continuing to circle above them. Wouldn't it be much nicer to spread your wings and head for new destinations? Nobody is stopping you. You have the right to focus on beautiful things and find your own personal nest of happiness.
Encourage yourself and give yourself motivation
Has something happened that is weighing you down? No, unfortunately you can't undo the situation. But no matter what has happened: Only you can decide how to deal with it. The following example sentences can help you: "I am strong enough to get through this." - "It may have been a turning point, but I have so many things in my life that work wonderfully and for which I am grateful." - "No matter what problems I encounter, I will find a solution." Internalize these sentences and believe in them. No one can take that away from you.
Embark on adventures and let yourself be surprised
Consciously try out new things. It's not about big tests of courage. It's about breaking out of your routine. How about a language course at the adult education center or joining a choir? You will discover new skills, quickly gain a sense of achievement and, above all, have fun. When you see how many exciting, happy and varied things are waiting for you out there, you can't help but embrace life. And to look forward to all that is to come.
Create a good mood with the right words
Remove the words "would have", "would" and "wouldn't" from your sentences as often as possible. Don't mourn the past and don't belittle yourself. Instead, use more and more words that automatically trigger positive thoughts and images in you, for example "like", "beautiful", "pleasure", "warmth", "love". How does it feel to no longer just do things, but to "enjoy" doing them? To no longer just meet the people around you, but to meet them with "love"?
Laugh out loud and do something good for yourself
Just burst out laughing - preferably every day! Because the positive effects are enormous: laughter strengthens our immune system, reduces our pain tolerance, strengthens the cardiovascular system, relaxes, ensures deeper breathing and slows down the production of stress hormones. There is no better mood enhancer. So: more courage to be silly.
Dream big - and celebrate the journey to your goal
Optimists know: There is no dream too big. They don't forbid themselves to let their imagination run wild, to be colorful and creative. It is not so important whether the dream is actually realized in the end. It is much more important to perceive every small step towards the goal as a gain. We are heading in the right direction: towards happiness.
