No compromises. No more constraints. Feel truly free. What a wonderful idea. Me time means doing nothing that you would otherwise only do for the sake of others. We choose freely, without outside influence. We only listen to our heart: it knows what is good for us. Especially in our hectic, noisy world, it is important to buck the "quiet" trend - and to find ourselves.
Choosing your own pace and personal rhythm
All time belongs to us alone. We don't have to be rushed by anyone or anything. We can let ourselves drift, enjoy the silence and recharge our batteries. We can take a break from the sensory overload that we are constantly exposed to in everyday life. It is normal for us to be constantly bombarded with new information that we can barely process. When we consciously withdraw regularly, we finally learn to recognize what is really important: ourselves.
Feel more creativity and live out your talents to the full
Of course, being inspired by others is great. It can give us helpful ideas for our own work. But if we want to create something new and surprisingly good ourselves, we also need to be there for ourselves again and again. We need space to fully develop our own creativity. To be able to act more spontaneously and be guided by our intuition. This is the only way we can really tinker with ideas with all our energy - and without outside influence - and successfully implement our projects with joy and vigor.
Exploit the learning effect and act more independently
Savoring "me time" also means enduring being alone and dealing with everything on our own. This may not always be easy, and for some it may even be more of a challenge than a gift at first. But it is always a valuable experience, even if we stumble from time to time and have to pick ourselves up again. Because living means learning. And it is only when we develop and grow that we realize what we are actually capable of. And also what we are really capable of.
Feel connected and recharge your batteries in nature
Take a break by the sea, in the mountains or in the forest: this is where our soul can breathe again, where we can calmly question our own desires and patterns and develop a stronger self even after setbacks. We become more mindful and relaxed, notice the small wonders around us much more intensely in nature - and feel gratitude. Lonely? We certainly don't feel lonely here: here we are one with everything.
Being in the very best company: namely our own
Let's say it to ourselves again and again: "There is no one who belongs to me as much as I do. I am the person I always have to get along with and therefore take particularly good care of." No, it has nothing to do with selfishness when we focus on our lives. When we live it to the full and enjoy it with all our senses because we can finally concentrate on it in peace. Daydreaming, trying out a new hobby, switching off your cell phone for a day, going to a good restaurant on your own - everything is allowed, we don't have to justify anything. What we do in our "me time" doesn't have to serve a higher purpose. Although - actually it does. Even the highest: to enable us to live a happy and fulfilled life. Let's go!
5 strategies for self-determined action
Have confidence in yourself - you alone should decide how you want to shape your life.
1 Take back control of your own time: Don't let others dictate your daily routine. Ask yourself for every unloved item on the agenda: Do I have to do this? Can I postpone it? Or not do it at all? What is good for me now instead?
2 Stay persistent: Don't give in when the wind blows against you. Repeat your point of view. Accept that you won't make everyone happy.
3 Don't always be nice: Do the expectations of others restrict you? Get rid of them. You don't have to be there for others around the clock. Don't let others take advantage of your willingness to help.
4 No false modesty: Do you usually stay in the background, don't want to impose yourself or are you afraid of boring others? No more of that! You're wasting every opportunity to show your facets and carve out some space for yourself. Talk openly about yourself and your needs and desires.
5 Listen to your inner voice: What is really important to you in life? What kind of person do you want to be? Allow yourself to listen to your heart and surround yourself with things that bring you joy. If you live according to the goals you choose, you can release more energy and rise above yourself.
