Healthy eating: why is it important?
When it comes to a healthy diet, it is not enough just to think about the calorie balance. It is much more important to take a closer look at the food itself and understand that much of what we eat is actually quite harmful to the body. Highly inflammatory processes can be set in motion that harm us in the long term and make us ill. With a healthy diet, on the other hand, we give our body everything it needs to be healthy and efficient - and preferably to stay that way.
4 foods that trigger inflammation in our body
The following foods are really harmful to our body, which is now well documented. Therefore, eat very little of these products:
1. white flour products
White bread, industrial cakes ... It is no longer a secret that refined white flour is one of the most unhealthy foods of all. It provides nothing but empty calories, has virtually no healthy ingredients or fiber and causes blood sugar levels to skyrocket. The glycemic load is therefore high. The extent of this is then noticeable in the gut, as healthy gut bacteria are displaced and harmful variants can trigger inflammation. Chronic intestinal diseases can be the result.
2. french fries
No matter how much you love them: French fries are super unhealthy because trans fats are produced during frying. These bad fats increase the equally bad LDL cholesterol, which in turn can lead to hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure and even strokes. Trans fats are also found in potato chips.
3. sugar in sweets
Jelly babies, chocolate, cakes - yes, we love them all. And unfortunately, it's all really unhealthy. It is now well known that sugar causes our blood sugar levels to go on a rollercoaster. If too much insulin is constantly released, this can lead to type 2 diabetes. However, sugar triggers oxidative stress throughout the body, which can lead to cardiovascular disease and, of course, obesity. The WHO recommends a maximum of 25 grams of sugar per day.
4. alcohol
It is now known that the harmful effects of alcohol affect the whole body. The neurotoxin has a far-reaching effect, affecting not only the body but also the mind. In addition to organs such as the brain and liver, the immune system (weakening) and the skin surface (dehydration) are particularly affected. In addition, mood swings can occur with regular consumption. The consumption of alcohol should only take place in moderation and should be restricted as much as possible.
