3 signs that you are eating too little fat

Trying to avoid every gram of fat? That's not good, because fat is also an important cornerstone of our diet. Too little of it can lead to health problems.

Too little oil disrupts the moisture balance of the epidermis.

The three macronutrients protein, carbohydrates and fats are essential for our body. This means that we cannot do without them. These include the two fatty acids linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). These are so-called polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are mainly found in vegetable oils, nuts, avocados and oily sea fish. Too little of these fats can have a significant impact on your health.

3 signs by which you can recognize that you are eating too little fat

1. dry skin

Linoleic acid is an important component of the outer skin layer, the epidermis, and regulates the moisture balance. If this is no longer sufficient, the skin dries out and becomes flaky - the protective barrier is disrupted and therefore more permeable to external influences such as the sun's rays.

2. frequent colds

If we consume too little of the important fatty acids, this also has an impact on our immune system - we become more susceptible to infections and inflammation.

3. lack of concentration

Who would have thought it? But our brain is also largely made up of fat - and needs omega-3 fatty acids in particular to maintain our cognitive abilities.
